The spa station in CaramanicoTerme is defined one of the best as well as Unique in Italy due to the fact that it presents not one but two natural springs ; the first with sulfur water and therefore, anti inflammatory and the second with diuretic low mineralized water . The documentation regarding the springs date bak to 1576 but the first scientific analysis were recorded in the nineteenth century recording a difference between the sulfurous water ( solfidimetric grade 137 ) and the diuretic water of the “pisciarello” spring. The springs are located in the middle of the village and while walking the streets one can clearly smell the characteristical odor of sulfur in the air .
